HART has released what it claims is a complete accounting of all ‘Public Involvement’ work.
Councilmember Tom Berg (Ewa, Waianae) July 23 gave media copies of HART documents which were provided to him pursuant to requests made at recent Council meetings. These documents include
- contract amounts for ‘public art’ at the first three Rail stations,
- a list of the 10 personnel who make up the 9.5 ‘Full Time Equivalents’ working on ‘Public Involvement’ for HART,
- HART responses to Resolutions 12-188 and 12-160, and the biggie--a
- 256 page file with the full text of what HART says are “copies of the contracts of the public involvement individuals, companies, consultants, or subconsultants hired or contracted by the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, or its program management, and general engineering consultants.”
Resolution 12-160—limiting HART PR work--is on the Council agenda for Wednesday July 25.
Who was being paid how much to do what? Did anybody have an undeclared conflict of interest? Were elected officials, organizations, or media directly or indirectly on the HART dole? And is HART’s 256-page release a complete accounting as HART claims?
Read it for yourself and find out.
