U.S. Chamber Launches New Ad Blitz in Key Senate Races
Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico and North Dakota Showcase Latest Battlegrounds for Free Enterprise
News Release from US Chamber of Commerce Washington, D.C July 17, 2012
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today launched a major new ad blitz in four crucial Senate races across the nation. The ads, running in Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and North Dakota, will highlight candidates’ positions on issues critical to economic growth and job creation, like domestic energy production, health care, and government spending. This launch bolsters the Chamber’s unprecedented voter education efforts, which will continue over the next couple of months.
“We need leaders in the Senate who understand that free enterprise and not more government will lead the American recovery,” said Thomas J. Donohue, the Chamber’s president and CEO. “Our efforts underscore the importance of electing a pro-business Senate that will be focused on good long-term transportation policy, increased energy production, and fiscal responsibility to bring our economy back.”
The Chamber’s campaign provides a comprehensive look at candidates’ records on issues ranging from labor, legal, and regulations to trade and transportation. It also highlights lawmakers’ records as rated in the Chamber’s annual 2011 How They Voted scorecard.
