GOV. LINGLE EXCEEDS FIRST QUARTER FUNDRAISING GOAL
1,544 New Donors Join the Campaign
Nes Release from www.Lingle2012.com: HONOLULU - Former Governor Linda Lingle's U.S. Senate campaign committee today announced its first quarter fundraising totals, which exceeded the campaign's expectations and goals.
The campaign raised $1,351,876.38 between January 1 and March 31, 2012, bringing the total funds raised in this election cycle to $3,119,186.27.
"I am very grateful for the strong financial and grassroots support the community continues to show for my campaign. We have experienced a surge of momentum in the numbers of volunteers who are signing up to help, and have added 1,544 new contributors in just 90 days. I have found the people in Hawaii and across America eager to discuss issues important to their families, businesses, and the nation, including the economy and jobs, the debt and deficit, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and national security and veterans affairs," said Gov. Linda Lingle.
"In these difficult economic times, I am honored and humbled to have so many supporters who identify with and have shown their support for my commitment to always put 'people first'. I am very grateful and appreciative that 3,089 individuals have invested in my campaign. They have put their faith in me because they know I will bring executive, independent and common-sense leadership to Washington as we address the difficult decisions that face our nation," Gov. Lingle added.
"It is clear that Gov. Lingle's commitment to bipartisanship is exactly what the people of Hawaii want in their next U.S. Senator," said campaign manager Bob Lee. "Voters recognize that Gov. Lingle will always put people over politics, which is a welcome change to the hyper-partisan politics we see in Washington today," Lee added.
A complete quarterly fundraising report was filed with the Federal Elections Commission by the Linda Lingle Senate Committee according to federal campaign regulations. Copies of the report can be acquired through the FEC.
