GOVERNOR LINGLE SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

News Release from Lingle2012.com
HONOLULU - Former Governor Linda Lingle, candidate for Hawaii's open U.S. Senate seat, posted today on her campaign website (www.lingle2012.com) a new section entitled Fact v. Myth.
Accompanying the web release is a soft-cover handout that together focus squarely on the facts about Governor Lingle's proven record of results during her eight years as Hawaii's Governor, as well as her ongoing commitment to always putting Hawaii's "people first." Fact v. Myth is a practical reference guide that sets the record straight on various issues raised by opponents and their surrogates in the U.S. Senate race.

"There will be false claims made during this Senatorial campaign, including attempts to rewrite the history of my eight years as Hawaii's Governor. I believe it is important to identify several of these false claims and set the record straight so we can focus on the important issues facing our state and nation," said Gov. Lingle.

Fact v. Myth articulates the facts, with sources and references available through the campaign website, putting to rest six misconceptions and politically-crafted falsehoods about Governor Lingle by clearly and concisely providing the factual reality of each claim.

"In order to deal with the challenges that residents and businesses of our state and nation face on a daily basis, including Hawaii's skyrocketing cost of living, it is critical we focus on real issues. The voters of our state deserve nothing less.

"If elected as Hawaii's next U.S. Senator, I will use my more than three decades of experience as a council member, Mayor and Governor to break through the partisan gridlock in Washington to find real solutions, and I will always put "people first," added Gov. Lingle.
