I’ve been working to resolve the issue of defining “permanent resident” as enshrined in our state constitution so that future Reapportionment Commissions will not have to face the morass of vagueness that swamps us all.
I see that Senate JDL Chairman Hee has scheduled a hearing on this matter for Monday morning. I hope you might come by and give our legislators a few words of encouragement.
I also would be grateful if you would let people know about this hearing.
If you have any questions regarding this effort, I would be pleased to answer to the best of my ability. I will certainly attend Monday’s hearing. I hope to be able to clarify this issue for the committee.
Mahalo hou,
