Announcement from IBEW Local 1357
Aloha, 12-13-2011
The ballots have been counted. In spite of the company's influence with the media, their rollouts to go over the proposal, and the unions neutral stance, the membership has voted down the company's offer, 283-216. Fundamental issues of takeaways (mortgaging the future to pay for today) & leadership confidence were reflected in the vote. The negotiating team is reviewing all options at this time and, a meeting is scheduled with the company tomorrow to discuss the vote results. We will keep you updated on any and all progress. Please continue to keep the focus on quality and safety at this time. The safety of the membership and the continued quality of the service we offer are what makes us an exceptional workforce.
In Solidarity,
The Negotiations Committee
