The Hill: Former Rep. Ed Case (D-Hawaii) fired back against the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's endorsement of his primary rival and criticized the group for being "D.C. insiders" in a statement to The Hill.
Case is running against Rep. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) to replace Sen. Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii), who is retiring. The DSCC has been critical of Case for months, and DSCC Chairwoman Patty Murray (D-Wash.) endorsed Hirono on Tuesday.
In an email, Case fired back. "While Mazie's been selling her candidacy to the DC insiders, I've taken mine straight to Hawaii's voters, who aren't too interested in Washington telling them how to fix Washington," he told The Hill.
