HONOLULU - Former Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Linda Lingle released today the second in a series of videos detailing her positions on issues of importance to the people of Hawai'i.
This video, which is posted on the Lingle 2012 website and Lingle 2012 YouTube Channel, features Governor Lingle speaking on the most pressing issue facing the nation and Hawai'i: the economy.
"As I talk with people across our state about their everyday concerns, it's clear that the critical issues of jobs and the economy, reducing regulations, immigration, tourism, education, national security and bipartisanship are important to Hawai'i residents," said Governor Lingle. "This election must be focused on the issues rather than partisan rhetoric. I want to let people know my ideas, vision and plans for some of the top issues facing Hawai'i and our nation," Governor Lingle added.
The new video focuses on Governor Lingle's belief that there is a strong need for restoring confidence in government leadership and the long-term certainty that businesses need in order to thrive and create jobs. Governor Lingle's way forward is a balanced approach that does not depend entirely on taxing or cutting, but rather growing the economy to overcome the fiscal crisis facing the people of Hawaii and the nation.
Over the next eight weeks, the Lingle campaign will roll out other videos that focus on reducing burdensome regulations by federal agencies that negatively impact jobs and the economy; approaching immigration policy on a rational basis versus an emotional basis that preserves the value of immigrants to America's culture and America's economy; developing a coherent policy framework to promote the tourism industry in America; and bringing proven bipartisan experience to Washington.
