From HSTA June 4, 2013
HSTA won a victory through bargaining this spring with agreement by the Employer to create a Joint Committee to study the Educator Evaluation System and to make final recommendations concerning the details of that system. HSTA has four members on Joint Committee announced today by HSTA President Wil Okabe.
In addition, HSTA created an Advisory Committee that will collect information and data from school level leaders and building representatives regarding the evaluation system. These teachers will provide guidance to the four HSTA members on the Joint Committee. The voice of the teacher will be heard. The Advisory Committee will be reflecting your experiences and your desires for a system that should focus on improving the practice of teaching that leads to improved student learning and producing real results for students.
Wil also announced the members appointed to the Advisory Committee today.
