From HANO-Hawaii.org

Robin Puanani Danner, founding president and chief executive officer of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement will retire and Michelle Kauhane, senior vice president of CNHA and former deputy director of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, will succeed her as leader of the organization on July 1.

Danner will continue as a senior advisor to the council for a year. She founded CNHA in 2001, with five members: the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, Papa Ola Lokahi, Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, Alu Like and Attorney Melody MacKenzie. It has grown to include 152 voting Native Hawaiian member organizations and businesses and a staff of 12. This year, it will convene its twelfth annual Native Hawaiian Convention.

Danner, who lives on Kauai will continue to be involved in CNHA projects, including completion of a Kumu and Youth campground on Kauai and the Native Hawaiian Political Action Committee.
