News Release from O‘ahu County Committee of the Democratic Party
The O‘ahu County Committee of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i will be convening this Saturday, May 11th, for its Annual Convention at the Aloha Stadium Hospitality Room. Over 200 delegates and observers will gather to consider the adoption of resolutions, changes to the county’s platform and by-laws, as well as elect a new county chair and vice chairperson.
“This year’s convention marks a significant turning point for this organization as delegates will be electing a new county chair after a long tenure by former chairperson, Tony Gill,” said Francis Choe, O‘ahu County Chair. “Local Democrats are preparing for a very spirited 2014 election season with the ultimate goal of maintaining our representation in the state’s various elected offices.”
Choe, who was elected O‘ahu County Vice Chair in 2011, became the chairperson after the resignation of Gill; on April 16th. The candidates for County Chair are current chair Francis Choe, Pohai Ryan, and Joshua Wisch. The candidates for County Vice Chair are Jake Bradshaw, Jon Chinen, and Bixby Ho.
