Hawaii State Senate and House of Representatives: Vote DOWN Bills that keep the despised PLDC objectives ALIVE!

Petition by Non-partisan Ohana Hawaii

PETITION TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE AND ALL MEMBERS OF THE 2013 HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE

Pursuant to Senate Rule #67 and House Rule #44, we Petition the Hawaii State Legislature, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, to VOTE DOWN the following bills that promote and parcel out the failed objectives and policies of the Public Land Development Corporation (PLDC):

The Repeal ACT 55 - PLDC Bill , passed by both the Senate and House of Representatives and now enrolled to the Governor for enactment, abolishes the PLDC and repeals its governing statutes in accordance with the Will of the People.

HOWEVER, House Bill 70, Senate Bill 1207 and Senate Bill 1171 separately serve to keep PLDC objectives alive and operating, thus flying in the face of the Will of the People.

We therefore Petition and strongly urge the Senate and the House of Representatives to REJECT House Bill 70, Senate Bill 1207 and Senate Bill 1171 in the greater public interest.

House Bill 70, Senate Draft, Part II – “Public Private Partnership Authority” (PPPA) control and development of any state and county public lands. Authorized by as few as three (3) PPPA members and an agency executive.

Senate Bill 1207 – State DOT Harbors Division exemption from required State Conservation District use review, site plan review, public hearing and -=permitting. Applies to any development or use within State commercial harbors and associated submerged lands.

Senate Bill 1171 – State Historic Preservation Division segmented review of cultural archaeological and historic sites. Circumvents present requirement for review of entire development prior to authorization.
