PR: "The House Judiciary Committee has not scheduled a hearing, with lawmakers privately doubting there are enough votes to advance a bill, while the Senate is waiting for the House to move first."
Broken Trust Levinson: Time Running Out For Same-Sex Marriage Bill
CB: Steven ‘Broken Trust’ Levinson, the retired Hawaii Supreme Court justice (who helped get his buddies into lucrative trusteeships), sent out the following email Friday (Feb. 8):
The future of marriage equality (sic) in Hawaii comes down to the next 96 hours.
For the freedom to marry (undermine the nuclear family) to advance this year, a hearing on the marriage bill must be on the legislative calendar by Tuesday. And despite the fact that a (bogus poll shows) strong majority of Hawaii voters support marriage for same-sex couples, leaders in the House and Senate have yet to schedule a hearing.
We only have four days to urge our legislators (not) to schedule a hearing and (not) move the un-marriage bill forward this year. There’s no time to waste.

Hawaii Governor’s Statement Regarding Marriage Equality
News Release from Abercrombie Feb 8 2013
Gov. Neil Abercrombie in 2011 signed into law civil unions, which represented Hawaii’s diversity, protected people’s privacy, and reinforced our core values of equality and aloha.
In 2012, a lawsuit was filed against Gov. Abercrombie in his official capacity claiming discrimination for failing to allow same sex couples to marry. The governor has declined to contest the lawsuit citing elements of the civil union law. The Attorney General is defending the Department of Health in carrying out its duty under the current law. This legislative session, there are bills to address marriage equality and Gov. Abercrombie is urging the Hawaii State Legislature to hear those measures.
Gov. Abercrombie stated:
“I have always supported human equality and agree with President Obama and our Congressional Delegation that all of our citizens should be treated equally. “Hawaii is a state defined by our diversity, compassion and aloha. I encourage our state legislators to hold hearings on the marriage equality bill so that we can further discussions on equal treatment under the law.”

Simple Point: Everybody of legal age who is not currently married has precisely the same right to marry a member of the opposite sex. For the entire history of the human race prior to 1993, marriage has been exclusively between male and female. Abercrombie is not demanding ‘equality.’ What he is demanding is the creation of a new family structure which has never existed before.
