Duke Aiona Backs Candidates in Council, Legislative Races

Aloha Mai Kākou:

As we enter the final weeks of this very important election cycle, I want to thank you all for your continued support and effort in bringing balance to government.

We must elect representatives that are willing to work with people from any party to find solutions, now just their own. Two candidates, Mazie Hirono and Colleen Hanabusa, have shown us exactly what we do not need -- hyper-partisanship like they displayed in this past Monday night’s televised debates.

Both of them, who also spoke from the same script and claimed that you can't vote for their opponents Governor Linda Lingle and Congressman Charles Djou simply because they are supporting Mitt Romney for President. They also claimed that Lingle and Djou would oust Senator Dan Inouye from his chairmanship of the Appropriations Committee and provide the Republicans with a majority in Congress. They failed to acknowledge that they are incumbents and also failed to mention who squandered their opportunity to be a part of the solution, instead of the problem, in Washington DC.

I ask you, in these last couple of weeks before the General Election, will you join me in supporting the following candidates who will bring bi-partisanship and balance to government? Will you support these candidates who will put the people of Hawaii first, not politics?

Kimberly Pine is seeking your support for Council District 1 of the City and County of Honolulu (Makakilo, Kapolei, Ewa Beach, Nanakuli, Waianae). Along with speaking to others about Kimberly, will you help her last push to victory by contributing online? To contribute, please click here. Kimberly would also like to invite you to her sunset dinner at Maile Beach Park on October 25th, 2012 at 5:30 PM. Please click here for more information.

Lauren Cheape is seeking your support for House Representative of District 45 (Mililani/Schofield/Wheeler/Wailua). In addition to encouraging your family and friends to vote for her, will you help her last push to victory by contributing online? To contribute, please click here.

Richard Fale is seeking your support for State Representative of District 47 (Windward Oahu and North Shore). In addition to encouraging your family and friends to vote for him, will you help his last push to victory by contributing online? To contribute, please click here.

Beth Fukumoto is seeking your support for State Representative of District 36 (Mililani/Mililani-Mauka). In addition to encouraging your family and friends to vote for her, will you help her last push to victory by contributing online? To contribute, please click here.

George Fontaine is seeking your support for re-election as your State Representative for District 11 (Kihei/Wailea/Makena). In addition to encouraging your family and friends to vote for him, will you help his last push to victory by contributing online? To contribute, please click here.

Again I thank you for your continued support! Together we can make a difference.

Aloha ke Akua,

Duke Aiona
