Happy Thanksgiving from Transform Hawaii Government!
From Transform Hawaii Government, Nov 25, 2020 (excerpt)
…A big accomplishment this year was advocating for and securing the appropriation of $17 million from the State Legislature to continue the modernization of Hawaii’s financial management system. This is a critical project for the State. The pandemic magnified its importance and underscored the inefficiencies in our government’s budget management, spending, and delivery of services. The people of Hawaii are directly feeling the impacts and are calling for change.
Some of this change is on the way. The State of Hawaii’s Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) and Office of Enterprise Technology Services, November 16, 2020, issued the RFP for an Enterprise Financial Solution. This is the result of the $17 million appropriation back in May and it’s great to see the momentum continue with a desire of our government leaders to integrate State IT, businesses systems and processes for improved efficiencies.
The news is truly exciting as the state moves forward with updating DAGS’ 40-year-old financial management system.
