HIGHLIGHTS: Keoni Souza repeats his claim that the Independent Audit of OHA was a waste of money. Current OHA Chair Machado agrees.
Trustee Kelii Akina explains why they are wrong: The audit is only a waste of money if the OHA Trustees don't act on the findings. Akina points out two Red Flags among many -- $2.6 million given by OHA to a group for which the auditors could find no receipts or invoices and $500K given to a friend of an administrator for which the auditors could find no evidence of work performed.
Meanwhile the Legislature refuses to fund OHA until OHA complies with a State Audit. OHA declines to hand over Executive Session minutes to the Auditor and has sued. More beneficiary money wasted on lawyers -- and lost legislative funding thanks to OHA stonewalling. WHAT ARE THEY HIDING IN THOSE EXECUTIVE SESSION MINUTES?
