Chief Justice Recktenwald Retained

Congratulations to Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald on being retained by the Judicial Selection Commission for a second term.
Associate Justice Paula A. Nakayama administered the oath of office remotely on Friday, September 11, 2020, to protect the health and safety of the participants.
In his remarks, Chief Justice Recktenwald said, “I am so grateful to be part of the amazing institution that is the Hawaii Judiciary, and thank the Judicial Selection Commission for giving me the opportunity to continue to serve.”
He went on to say how proud he is of the work done by the judges, judiciary staff, and his personal staff, who all give their heart and soul to the Judiciary each day, and expressed his appreciation for the resourcefulness and innovation demonstrated in response to the pandemic.
He also thanked his family “for being the foundation of everything I do.”
