Aloha Fellow Republicans! July 29, 2020
We are within 99 days until Election Day and we have so much to accomplish. I hope you are ready to roll up your sleeves to get our President re-elected, and get Republicans elected to office here in Hawaii! We are pleased to announce that we will be launching a series of trainings and activities aimed at helping our campaigns be as effective as possible in the closing stretch of the election cycle. There are many things you can get involved with and WE NEED YOU!
First of all, thank you to our 430 delegates, our largest convention in over five years, who turned out to support the 2020 Hawaii Republican Party State Convention. As you know, it was held this weekend in a virtual (online) format due to the state’s current COVID-19 restrictions. The delegates elected Laura Nakanelua as our National Committeewoman and re-elected Gene Ward as our National Committeeman. The delegates also voted on our 2020 Hawaii Republican Party Platform, arguably the most conservative and comprehensive platform published for our party. Finally, the delegates passed these 8 resolutions, which are being sent to the Governor and all state legislators, emphasizing our party’s firm beliefs and values:
- Resolution in Support of Building the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) on Mauna Kea
- Resolution Opposing the Green New Deal
- Resolution Opposing Socialism
- Resolution Supporting 2nd Amendment Rights
- Resolution Protecting Our Constitutional Rights in a Pandemic
- Resolution to Amend the Jones Act
- Resolution on Informed Consent Regarding Vaccines
- Resolution Against Child Exploitation
Please feel free to visit the website at www.gophawaii.com to read our platform and resolutions and feel free to share with your friends and neighbors and voters when they ask you why they should vote Republican this year. Be part of the RED wave in 2020!
Our first-ever 100% Mail-in Ballot for Hawaii is in full swing for the Primary Elections. We’ve done a huge push to let our voters know of this new law in Hawaii. Please share with your ‘ohana, friends, and neighbors and ensure they got their ballots and have sent them in. At the Hawaii Republican Party Headquarters, we have election observers and certifiers who are volunteering with the Office of Elections to secure the vote.
There are many things you can get involved with over the next few weeks, too! The closing months of this election cycle is very critical, and you can make a difference!
We continue to recruit for our HRP Social Media Digital Task Force. Members of this task force are essential in continuing our effort to promote Republican candidates and ideals. While COVID-19 has our mobility and interaction somewhat limited, digital campaigning has taken center stage. Elections aren’t stopping and neither can we. Please contact our Vice Chairman for Communications, Edwin Boyette, at edwinboyette@gmail.com to be part of this team.
We are hosting training for our campaigns and activists to use, at no charge, the Advantage App. We know that in our critical election contests voter contact and mobilization often makes up the difference between winners and losers. The Advantage App us make sure we’re doing everything you can to win. With Advantage’s mobile solutions fueling our door-to-door canvassing and volunteer phone banking operations, we’ll have all our information in one place – and in real-time – to preserve all our campaign’s momentum and keep the pressure on our democratic opponents. I urge you to contact your favorite Republican candidate and get involved in their campaign. Our training will be held on Tuesday, 4 August at 12:00noon via Zoom. Get the link from your District Chair, County Chair or candidate campaign.
