Keli'i Akina Calls for Balanced Approach to Re-opening the Economy

HONOLULU, HAWAII--May 2, 2020 -- OHA Trustee-at-Large and Grassroot Institute president Keli'i Akina called on Hawaii government leaders for a balanced approach to re-opening the economy as we deal with the Coronavirus crisis.
In an interview with KITV4 reporter Annalisa Burgos aired on May 2nd, Akina stated that it is important both to aggressively safeguard public health and aggressively rebuild the Hawaii economy. See: Local-think-tank-calls-for-state-to-lift-covid19-restrictions
Akina outlined several measures that must be taken now before "irreparable damage" is done to Hawaii's economy.
During the current crisis, Akina is volunteering with local businesses to provide meals to kupuna on several islands.
