Help the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board develop ethics training
Teachers will work with Dr. Troy Hutchings to make the Model Code of Ethics for Educators appropriate for Hawaii
News Release from HSTA, May 31, 2019
The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board is recruiting teachers to develop Hawaii-specific training on the Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE).
The MCEE establishes a framework to better navigate the complexities and competing tensions of the schooling environment.
Participants will work with Dr. Troy Hutchings, who conducted breakout sessions at several HSTA Teacher Institute Days this year.
The group's first meeting will take place in July, between the DOE Leadership meeting on July 12 and HSTA's Summer Leadership Training training on July 24.
Two face-to-face meetings will be held during the 2019-2020 school year, along with periodic "check-ins" using an online meeting room.
HTSB will cover any travel and substitute expenses, and may offer an honorarium for “core” members.
Interested members can apply here and will be contacted in June if selected to participate.
