JOINT P3 PROCUREMENT ON TRACK
News Release from HART, May 3, 2019
(HONOLULU)- The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) and the City & County of Honolulu's P3 procurement remains on track.
HART and the City today issued the second part of the joint procurement for a P3 team to build the remainder of the Honolulu rail transit project and operating the city’s rail system.
“We are pleased that we’ve been able to move forward on this significant next step for the rail project, and that the procurement process is continuing as planned,” said HART Executive Director and CEO Andrew Robbins. “Both HART and the City look forward to reviewing the teams’ proposals and awarding a P3 contract later this year.”
HART and the City earlier announced that submittals were received for RFP Part 1 of the procurement, which is generally referred to as a qualifications phase. HART and the City evaluated the submittals received over the past few weeks.
In accordance with Hawaii procurement law, a short list of not more than 3 preferred offerors is now being asked to put together proposals that include pricing and technical details of how they plan to complete the rail project to Ala Moana Center, construct the Pearl Highlands parking garage and transit center, and operate and maintain the rail system for a period of 30 years.
