HART AND CITY RECEIVE P3 RESPONSES
News Release from HART, April 12, 2019
(HONOLULU)- The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) and the City & County of Honolulu announced today that submittals have been received in reply to the Request for Proposals (RFP) Part 1, from teams interested in building the remainder of the Honolulu rail transit project and operating the city’s rail system.
“We are pleased that HART and the City received submittals for our Public-Private partnership solicitation by today’s deadline,” said HART Executive Director and CEO Andrew Robbins. “Both HART and the City look forward to reviewing the submittals and continuing the joint procurement process.”
RFP Part 1 is generally referred to as a qualifications phase. HART and the City will evaluate the submittals received today and then select a short list to move on to the second part of the procurement. Those companies will have several months to put together an offer that includes pricing and technical details of how they plan to complete the project to Ala Moana and operate & maintain the rail system for a period of 30 years.
In accordance with Hawaii procurement law, HART and the City are unable to disclose the names of companies or the number of proposals received at this stage of the procurement process.
