This was the vote on the House Democrats' continuing resolution to reopen the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the midst of the government shutdown beginning on December 22, 2018. The resolution does not include $5.6 billion in funding for a southern border wall, and as such the President has stated that he will not sign it, adding that he would be willing to continue the shutdown for months or years.

The resolution would fund DHS until February 8, which House Democrats argue would give time to come to an agreement about the border wall without continuing the shutdown. House Democrats issued a press release on passage of the resolution.
