Honolulu Maoists & Holocaust Deniers protest against Israel: Star-Bulletin calls them ‘peace activists’

SB: Israel detains Hawaii activist

Honolulu peace activist Ann Wright was one of about 700 people taken into custody by Israeli defense forces after a raid on a flotilla of boats carrying aid to Gaza left nine people dead, friends of Wright's confirmed.

Kyle Kajihiro (close associate of BoE member Mr Kim Coco Iwamoto) of the American Friends Service Committee and Arnie Kotler, publisher of a book by Wright, said they recognized Wright in a video of the detainees taken in Ashdod, an Israeli port. The video was posted on YouTube and several news sites.

She has been active in Gaza issues during the past two years, speaking out against an Israeli blockade of the Palestinian area, Kotler said. Wright participated in an attempted border crossing into Gaza through Egypt in December, said Kotler, whose Maui-based company, Koa Books, published Wright's "Dissent: Voices of Conscience" in 2008.

"It's the saddest situation in Gaza," he said. "The blockade has been horrific."

Apparently there are things worse than “blockade”: Bus Bombers Seek Israeli Protection From Head choppers

Israel has said its commandos fired on passengers aboard the lead vessel when confronted by knife- and club-wielding activists

In Honolulu, peace groups held a rally yesterday outside the federal building on Ala Moana Boulevard to protest the Israeli action. Waving posters denouncing Israel and U.S. support for Israeli policy, the demonstrators appealed to drivers for support. Many of the activists said they knew Wright personally.  (And here are two of Wright’s Honolulu friends)

"Ann is so inspirational," said Carolyn Hadfield (Leader of Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party and “Not In Our Name” NION). "She has that military background, so she must have soberly assessed the risks and decided it was worth it." (Ann Wright is closely affiliated with Hadfield… hmmmmm)

Michael Rivero, webmaster of the activist (Holocaust denier and 9-11 trooother) website whatreallyhappened.com, said Wright is "a very well-liked, very well-respected peace activist." He likened the Israeli raid to piracy and called it "an act of war."

Hadfield is a Maoist leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party in Honolulu  (70M Chinese people killed by Mao).

Rivero runs a Holocaust Denier website (6M people killed in Holocaust).

The Star Bulletin calls them "peace activists."  The Star Bulletin calls their organizations “peace groups.”

Now we know what a “peace activist” is.

Lt Gov candidate, anti-Superferry protester and State Sen. Gary Hooser cited Rivero’s WhatReallyHappened.com as part of his “regular reading regime”—until Hawai`i Free Press called him on it

A YouTube video is said to show the silver-haired (Ann) Wright among people being escorted from boats and into a tent at the Ashdod port in Israel. (anti-Superferry protester) Larry Geller, a Hawai'i resident and author of the Disappeared News blog who has met Wright on several occasions, identified a woman in the video striding on the dock in a black baseball cap, T-shirt and pants as being Wright.

"That's good to hear," said (anti-Superferry protester and 9-11 troooother) Jim Albertini, a friend of Wright's who lives on the Big Island. Albertini tried to call and e-mail her after hearing of the attacks….

Wright also has detailed her views about Gaza on the Town Square radio program on Hawaii Public Radio. Show host (and totally unbiased ‘journalist’) Beth-Ann Kozlovich said she wasn't surprised that Wright took part in the flotilla.  (Your tax dollars at work to support HPR.)

"She walks her talk," Kozlovich said, noting that although Wright calls O'ahu home, she's rarely here.

"She's gotten herself arrested a couple of times."

Kozlovich said Wright also had spoken up for Army 1st Lt. Ehren Watada, who refused to deploy to Iraq because of his opposition to the war.

"She's outspoken about human rights," said Kozlovich.  (And makes sure the rights of head-choppers are protected always)

(Anti-Superferry protester) Larry Geller, of Honolulu, has known Wright for two years, "We didn't know if she was hurt or injured. I didn't know she was ok until I saw the video of her walking into the detention center in Ashdod, " said Geller.  (Who more recently took video of Chinatown rats in an effort to help UPW/HGEA avoid cutbacks.)

Wright spoke with a reporter two days before the attack while on board the ship. Wright knew the attack would be deadly if it happened, (since the terrorist-lovers were carrying weapons) but she was hoping Israelis were ready to go down another path.

"I would certainly hope the Israeli's would recognize this for what it is. A peaceful non-violent mechanism for forcing governments to do what governments don't want to do” (delivering lots of cement to Hamas so they can build more bunkers and emplacements.)

(Apparently Geller has found a ferry he can support.  Did the flotilla have an EIS?????)
