O‘ahu Bike Plan update to be announced at public meeting
News Release from City and County of Honolulu, Nov 5, 2018
Honolulu – The city’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS) is updating the O‘ahu Bike Plan and will be hosting a community meeting to provide project information and gather community input. The community meeting will be held Wednesday, November 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, Hawai‘i Suites, 777 Ward Avenue, Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
The Department of Transportation Services held a series of community workshops around the island earlier this year to seek public input and ideas. Based on this initial public process, DTS has prepared a series of recommendations and a new proposed bicycle network to support bicycling as a safe and convenient transportation option. At the upcoming November 14 community meeting DTS will present the new recommendations and updated network, in addition to hosting interactive breakout sessions to receive public feedback. DTS will then develop the Draft O‘ahu Bike Plan Update for a final round of public review.
