Community-based report on Maunakea released

EnVision Maunakea, a report reflecting the beliefs, views and opinions of about 100 Hawaiʻi Island residents about the future of Maunakea, is now available to the public.
The report is the result of planning and coordination meetings along with 15 ʻAha Kūkā or listening sessions along with written and website submissions dating back to 2015. Meetings were held in Hilo, Kona, Waimea and North Kohala.
“EnVision Maunakea was designed as a community-based initiative to gather a wide range of perspectives on the mountain’s future and put these valuable insights in the hands of decision-makers. This process was intended to inform policy and regulatory actions that will deeply impact the entire mountain,” according to the report’s introduction....
