HART BEGINS REPAVING PORTIONS OF KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY

From HART Weekly e-Blast, November 10, 2017

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, HART is in the process of repaving portions of Kamehameha Highway from Aiea through Pearl City.  Prep work began early this month with the paving project expected to be completed by early December.

The prep work allows contractors to remove traffic barrels and expand areas that are currently striped for two-lanes into a three-lane configuration, significantly improving traffic flow through the area.  In addition, most of the repaving work will be done at night and include directional signage which will further enhance traffic conditions.

HART recognizes the impact that construction of the Rail Project has on various communities along and near the alignment.  It is important to HART that we work to minimize those impacts as much as possible, both in areas where construction is underway as well as those in which work is planned.
