Big Mahalo to Governor Mike Huckabee!
My Fellow Republicans,
On Tuesday night (Oct 24, 2017), Governor Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker at our fundraising event which turned out to be the biggest and most successful one the party has had in 7 years! What an amazing event it was, with more than 500 guests gathering at the beautiful Ko`olau Ballrooms. If you missed it, you will want to view his rousing speech embedded below along with a clip of the great news coverage we received by clicking on the graphic below the video.
Governor Huckabee challenged us by saying, if you don’t like the way things are going with your state government, "why doesn't somebody do something?" He said, "The Hawaii Republican Party is the 'somebody' who needs to do 'something'!" He also described Hawaii as the most hospitable state in the nation where “aloha” is not an empty word and where our greatest asset is our people.
After his rousing speech and seeing everyone come together hand-in-hand and in unison for Hawai'i Aloha, I feel encouraged more than ever to go out and DO SOMETHING GREAT! Please join us in taking heed to Governor Huckabee'scall to be a part of something great and become a candidate, a member,
volunteer or donor as we head into 2018!
I am truly thankful to Governor Huckabee and feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know him and to have spent quality time with him, his beautiful wife Janet and Governor Linda Lingle over the last few days. It is such an honor for us to have their support and guidance to help grow our Party.
Lastly, but most importantly, thank you to all of our generous donors and to our Host Committee, the Oahu League of Republican Women and themany volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Without you, this would not have been possible. Imua kākou, let's move forward together.
With Warmest Aloha!
Chairman Shirlene Ostrov

Message to Supporters from Honolulu Republican Party
Mahalo to Chair Ostrov, the Event Committee and the OLRW for all their hard work in making this event a success.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the state party’s Governor Mike Huckabee fundraising dinner last night.
It was great to have the opportunity to meet and speak to so many of you, and it was fantastic to see so many conservative Republicans in the same room enjoying themselves.
I hope each of you had the chance to meet Governor Huckabee and his wife Janet, who made the trip to Hawaii from Arkansas to bless us with their presence.
I personally thought the Governor’s speech was filled with inspiration and hope, but he also reaffirmed our journey will not be easy.
In the days ahead, our party’s State Committee will be working on the budget for the 2018 calendar year. As you can imagine, next year’s election campaign will be a challenge. Thanks to your support, our state party hopes to have sufficient funds to provide a higher level of political action which translates into more votes for our candidates. Once those plans are finalized, I hope I can report good news to you sometime in December.
In the meantime, if you would make a direct contribution to the Honolulu County Republican Party, we would be grateful.
Our Oahu GOP’s island wide canvassing program (Honolulu County Kicks Off Historic Grassroots Action!) is still moving forward and impacting the attitudes of voters and changing the narrative about where responsibility lies for Hawaii’s many problems and challenges. More than ever before, voters are waking up to the failed policies of the Democrats and taking a closer look at Republican solutions and reforms. And as Governor Huckabee stated we need to persuade voters on a vertical plane.
If you didn’t catch the news last night, here’s a link to Hawaii News Now’s news video and article about our successful Huckabee dinner.
Finally, you can see more of Governor Huckabee on his new TV show HUCKABEE on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) carried locally on Spectrum Channel 26, DirecTV Channel 372, and Dish Channel 260. Check your local listing for show times.
Respectfully,
Brett Kulbis
Honolulu County Chairman
