Bully Bill Advances Out of Health Committee
On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, the House Health Committee made some changes to SB501. The current version, HD1, is alive and well. The votes were as follows: Representative(s) Belatti, Kobayashi, Morikawa, Todd voting in support and Representative(s) Har, Oshiro, Tupola voting in opposition. Do you want to see which organizations support this anti-constitutional measure and testified that faith-based pregnancy resource centers should be forced to promote information contrary to their religious belief? The bill will now move to the House Judiciary Committee.
ACTION: Contact Representative Scott Nishimoto at 808-586-8515 and ask him not to schedule the bill for hearing.

UPDATE March 25, 2017: No Aloha in Suicide
On Thursday, March 23, 2017, the House Health Committee, under the leadership of the Chairwoman Della Au Belatti, rightfully and unanimously deferred the assisted suicide bill (SB1129 SD2).
Unfortunately, and as we warned, Compassion and Choices and their highly paid lobbyists are not happy with the decision. They are mounting an all-out assault on the House of Representatives to try and force a floor vote on the bill. We cannot let the members of the House hang under the threats of these proponents.
Please take 45 seconds and do these two things immediately:
-
Call YOUR representative (our system will pair you up with them right away) and thank them for standing firm with the House Health Committee's decision to defer SB1129 SD2 (assisted suicide).
-
Email your representative saying the same thing.
The media seems to be driving this effort so we need you rise up and make your voice heard.
Mahalo for your continued prayers and support. Please forward this email to your family and friends. The "forward" button is below.
