Djou Campaign Reacts to Caldwell's Misrepresentation on Debates
News Release from Djou Campaign July 7, 2016
Honolulu, HI - Djou campaign reacted to Kirk Caldwell's statement that "Djou cancels first scheduled debate."
Press Secretary, Jon Kunimura, states, "Due to a scheduling conflict, Charles is unable to attend the HPR forum on July 11. His attendance at that forum was never confirmed because of miscommunication as to the date of the forum.
Djou will participate in the following eight (8) debates and forums in the next five weeks -- at least one of which Caldwell has refused to attend:
- HLTA -- 7/14
- Honolulu Rotary -- 7/26
- West Oahu Economic Development Assn and Kapolei Chamber of Commerce -- 7/28
- KITV -- 7/28
- the Conversation with Beth Ann Kozlovich on HPR -- 8/2
- PBS -- 8/1
- Honolulu Japanese Chinese Filipino Chambers of Commerce -- 8/4
- Kalihi, Kahala, Kaimuki Business Associations -- 8/5
"This appears to be an attempt by Caldwell to distract attention from the serious mismanagement issues facing the City, including the on going sewage spill at Kewalo basin."
