Message to Supporters From Djou Campaign,       July 1, 2016

Mahalo for your support! Because of your help, we met our fundraising goals for the first campaign finance report.  We are working on finalizing the numbers, but I am excited to share with you that we will be able to file an exceptionally strong fundraising report that demonstrates the strength of our campaign and message.

We still, however, have much more work ahead of us if we are going to stop the downward spiral.  So many matters demand our immediate attention in Honolulu: 

• RAIL: The rail system cost has exploded and even though the project is already way behind schedule, the mayor wants to delay a mass transit solution even further.  
• HOMELESS: Yesterday, the latest homeless number count showed yet another increase in our community's homeless population.  Homelessness has grown every single year since Caldwell took office.
• ETHICS: Our City Ethics Commission has been decimated by the mayor's appointees and the Ethics Director resigned under political pressure after he started asking the "wrong" questions about the mayor's campaign fundraising.

This primary election on August 13 is critical - please talk with your family and friends about the need to vote on August 13. If you plan on being away on August 13, please ask for an absentee ballot and vote by mail.  It's simple to request an absentee ballot on the Office of Elections website -- https://olvr.hawaii.gov/.  All you'll need is a Hawaii Driver's License/State ID and your social security number.  The deadline to request a mail ballot is August 6

Our community can't wait another four years to fix the mess in our City.  Thank you for your continued confidence and support in our campaign for mayor.
