A veterans candlelight Memorial Day eve ceremony will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. May 29 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) to honor all American prisoners of war and those missing in action.

The Honolulu mayor’s Memorial Day ceremony will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. May 30 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl).

The governor’s Memorial Day ceremony will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. May 30 at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at Kaneohe.

Ewa Battlefield - Mooring Mast Field, Ceremony 9:30am –11:30am May 30

A U.S. Submarine Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. May 30 at the USS Parche Memorial.

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam will perform a 21-gun salute in honor of Memorial Day, starting at noon on May 30. One round will be fired every minute for 21 minutes from the Ford Island 40mm battery position.

The Battleship Missouri Memorial will honor Armed Forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice by providing free admission to all active duty, reserve, auxiliary and retired U.S. military personnel and family members on Memorial Day, May 30. They can get free admission by presenting a valid military ID at the ticket and information booth at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center or at the entrance to the Battleship Missouri Memorial for those having approved base access onto Ford Island. Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor will honor members of the Armed Forces on Memorial Day with free admission to all active-duty, reserve, auxiliary, and retired U.S. military and their families, Monday, May 30. Waikiki Memorial Day Parade This parade is expected to have 2,000 marchers, 30 vehicles, five floats and eight bands. The route starts at Fort DeRussy to Kalakaua Avenue to Kapahulu and Monsarrate avenues. The parade starts at 9am.

Lantern Floating Ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park The annual Memorial Day Lantern Floating Ceremony offers participants to gather together to remember loved ones who have passed away. More than 6,000 floating lanterns are expected along with over 40,000 people attending this free event. This year’s pre-ceremony starts with taiko performance at 6:10pm. The main ceremony starts at 6:30 pm at Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park. Free parking will be available on May 30th from 7:00am to 11:59pm at the Hawaii Convention Center. If you are staying in Waikiki, you might consider walking, especially if your hotel is on the western end of Waikiki or consider the Waikiki Trolley.
