Three Incumbent Directors Re-elected to KIUC Board

Līhuʻe, Kauaʻi, HI - 3/12/16 – Carol Bain, Calvin K. Murashige, and Jan TenBruggencate have been re-elected to the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative’s (KIUC) Board of Directors. These three directors will each serve for a 3-year term ending March 2019.
Merriman River Group submitted the official results for the 2016 Board of Directors Election. The results are as follows:
1. Cal Murashige 3,639
2. Jan TenBruggencate 3,310
3. Carol Bain 2,556
4. Hermina “Mina” Morita 2,365
5. Bill Peterson 1,629
KIUC mailed 25,504 ballots and received 5,322, for a turnout of 21 percent.
Merriman River Group, a California-based election management firm conducted the election.
The newly-elected board members will be inaugurated on March 22 at 11 a.m. in the KIUC Main Conference Room. The board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 12:30 p.m.
