HONOLULU, Hawaii - West Oahu Republican state lawmaker Bob McDermott today endorsed presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

"I know we can put our trust in Ted Cruz to relentlessly defend the constitution, defend the family and defend our country."
In addition to serving on the Judiciary and the Consumer Protection & Commerce committees, Rep. McDermott also leads the Ohana Policy Group which researches and advocates pro-family policy solutions.

DICK ROWLAND, LIBERTY ADVOCATE AND FOUNDER OF HAWAII'S INFLUENTIAL GRASSROOT INSTITUTE, ENDORSES TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT
From Ted Cruz Hawaii February 23, 2016
HONOLULU, Hawaii - Today, Hawaii's noted liberty advocate Richard O. Rowland announced his full support for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign and officially joined the Liberty Leaders for Cruz coalition in Hawaii.
Rowland, the highly regarded founder and past president of the influential Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, commented: "Of all the Republican presidential candidates, Ted Cruz is the genuine constitutionalist who sincerely wants smaller, more effective, and more responsive government. He is dedicated to the values and principles in policy that make The American Dream possible."
The endorsement of Senator Cruz, with Rowland's unquestioned leadership, is a big plus for the Cruz campaign. Rowland has spent decades educating isle residents about individual liberty, the free market and limited government.
Rowland, whose liberty credentials include founding the influential Hawaii Weekly Meeting "Calabash" and his previous service as chairman of the Libertarian Party of Hawaii, explained: "There's more to politics than just left and right. You're either going north toward individual liberty and the vision of the founders of the United States as enunciated in the Declaration of Independence, or you're going south toward the vision of statism, in which the state gets bigger and bigger and bigger. I've studied the men and women running for the presidency. Ted Cruz opposes statism more than the rest. He wants every American to be able to move up in life by having unhindered access to pursue happiness and prosperity."
The Ted Cruz campaign in Hawaii is focused on helping to secure the Republican nomination for Senator Cruz -- winning the Hawaii GOP's presidential caucus to be held on Tuesday, March 8th.
