A Theme Develops during first week:
Bumpy Kanahele Shouted Down at Aha Monday Feb 1
By the end of Friday's session, the theme of a Hawaiians-only tribe vs the multi-ethnic Hawaiian Kingdom is being developed further.
Aha 'delegate' Z Aki Feb 7, 2016 reports:
Of the many things non-participants are not privy to, are the ongoing email discussions (of which there are so many).
One of these discussions concerns uniting conflicting interests between U.S. Federal Recognition and Hawaiian Independence. Current offers being made (that I am aware of) include:
1) The production of two constitutions (one for an independent entity and the other for a fed-rec entity);
2) In relation to #1, the establishment of two separate entities that will work with one another and move forward in parallel to one another toward their own respective paths of self-determination;
and
3) A single transitional authority that will manage the two interests in order to facilitate the establishment of something outlined in #2.
