Randy Roth is a professor of Law at the University of Hawaii, served as President of the Hawaii State Bar Association, Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education and Hawaii Estate Planning Council, and as Associate Reporter for the Restatement of the Law (Third) Trusts project of the American Law Institute. Professor Roth served as a script consultant for the movie, The Descendants, which won an Academy Award in 2012 for Best Screenplay.

Professor Roth is the co-author of Broken Trust, an expose of the political troubles in the Bishop Estate, and editor of The Price of Paradise books, detailing economic and political controversies in the state of Hawaii.
