KIUC Nominating Committee Selects 5 Candidates for Board Election

Līhuʻe, Kauaʻi, HI - 12/2/15 – The Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) Nominating Committee has selected five candidates for its Board of Directors election on March 12, 2016. Three of the nine director positions are up for election annually.
The nominated candidates are, in alphabetical order:
- Carol Bain of Līhu‘e, a member of community boards and an incumbent KIUC director.
- Hermina M. Morita of Hanalei, a former state representative and a former chair of the Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission.
- Calvin K. Murashige of Līhu‘e, a retired judge and an incumbent KIUC director.
- William D. Peterson of Kapaʻa, a retired information technology professional.
- Jan TenBruggencate of Līhu‘e, a journalist and incumbent KIUC director currently serving as chairman of the board.
Members can also run for the cooperative’s board by submitting a petition with the names of at least 35 members by the close of business on December 21, 2015. For details on the petition and election process please go to www.kiuc.coop or call 246.4383.
