Eleven out-of-state candidates are listed twice on the official Nai Aupuni ‘Out-of-State’ ballot.
The Eleven: Leslie Abrigo, Catelin Aiwohi, Kelson Batanga, Melanie Bison, Lydia Burt, Darlene Butts, Maija Calcagno, Harry Cornwell Jr., Ann Marie Tomisato, Matthew Tomisato, and Candace Wall.
Nai Aupuni claims that double votes on a single ballot will not be counted. Nonetheless, to they extent that voters randomly pick names, these candidates have double the chance of receiving votes.
The out-of-state voting is the most likely to produce random voting patterns due to the limited opportunity for candidates to contact the dispersed electorate.
On November 23, Nai Aupuni announced that Ann Marie Tomisato and Matthew Tomisato are withdrawing from the race. Votes cast for them will not be counted.
