The Honolulu Charter Commission is an appointed board which meets every ten years to study and review City government operations in the City Charter, the "Constitution" of the City and County of Honolulu.
Help the Commission strengthen our Charter and the future of our island!
You’re invited to participate with the 2015-2016 Honolulu Charter Commission in shaping Oahu’s future. The Commission will study and review the operation of City government. The Commission may propose amendments to the Honolulu City Charter which, as the City’s ”constitution,” lays out the foundation, structure, and operations of city government. The Commission welcomes your ideas and suggestions. E Komo Mai!
Propose Amendments
The Honolulu Charter Commission receives proposals from agencies and the public to amend the City Charter of Honolulu. The Commission is accepting proposals through October 31, 2015, to amend the Charter.
You may submit testimony on specific agenda items being considered by the Charter Commission. If you wish to comment on other commission matters, please use the Submit Comments section.
