Attorney Timothy Sutton Takes the Helm of Senate Minority Research

News Release from Senate Minority September 10, 2015

HONOLULU—Timothy Sutton has been named Director and Senior Attorney for the Hawaii Senate Minority Research Office.  Appointed by Senate Minority Leader Sam Slom, Sutton will take the reins on legal research, legislative drafting and other support tasks for the Hawaii Senate Minority.

Senator Sam Slom says, "I am pleased to announce that Tim has joined the Senate Minority team. His sharp legal mind and public policy sensibilities are what set him apart from other candidates, and I know he will make valuable contributions to our legislative efforts.”

Sutton attended the University of Hawaii as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Languages (Mandarin Chinese) before receiving his law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.  His professional legal background encompasses immigration law, health law, employment law and collective bargaining in both the public and private sector.
