HAWAII HEALTH CONNECTOR RELEASES 2014 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE: A roadmap to sustainability by 2023

HONOLULU (January 5, 2015) – The Hawaii Health Connector released its 2014 annual report, which outlines a detailed market analysis and financial plan that demonstrates the Connector’s path to sustainability.
“The Connector is already contributing to a better quality of life by bringing access to Hawaii’s outstanding medical services to more than 15,000 citizens directly, and more than 50,000 in the expanded Medicaid program,” said Jeff Kissel, the Hawaii Health Connector’s Executive Director.
The report also details the Connector’s progress over the past year and identifies some of the opportunities ahead, including:
- More than $500 million in federal tax subsidies to Hawaii’s workers and businesses over the next decade
- Reducing the burden to our community for uncompensated health care
- Providing access to dental, drug, and vision coverage at affordable prices
- Providing new jobs in Hawai’i for our residents
