With November being Lung Cancer Awareness Month and the disease accounting for $12.1 billion of total cancer care costs and $36.1 billion in lost productivity, according to the most recent estimates, the leading personal finance social network WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of 2014’s Best & Worst States at Combating the High Cost of Lung Cancer.
WalletHub ranked the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia based on 11 key metrics. The data set includes such metrics as air quality, the price of a cigarette pack and death rates from lung cancer.
Hawaii ranks #1 overall.
