Mayor Caldwell to host affordable housing town hall meeting

Honolulu – Mayor Caldwell will be joined by Transit-Oriented Development Administrator Harrison Rue and Office of Housing Director Jun Yang at a town hall meeting in Waipahu to discuss the city’s aggressive new island wide housing strategy.
The meeting will be held at the Waipahu District Park in Waipahu on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 7 p.m.
The town hall meeting will be broadcast live on 'Ôlelo channel 49. The public is encouraged to attend, participate, and make suggestions on how the Caldwell Administration can better serve the housing needs of O‘ahu residents.
Mayor Caldwell’s Islandwide Housing Strategy and its Executive Summary may be viewed at www.honoluludpp.org. Those attending the town hall are encouraged to read the strategy or executive summary in advance of the meeting and prepare any questions, comments, or concerns.
Mayor Caldwell has visited communities around the island since taking office. Last week, he held an affordable housing town hall meeting at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. Earlier this year, he held town hall meetings in Mililani, Waikiki, Waimanalo, Ewa and Nanakuli. Last year, he held town hall meetings in the following locations: Downtown, Hawaii Kai, Kahuku, Kaimuki, Kalihi, Kaneohe, Kapolei, Wahiawa, Waialua, and Waianae.
