VIDEO: Manny Pacquiao endorses Duke Aiona

From Aiona-Ahu Campaign, October 11, 2014

World Champion boxer and Filipino politician, Manny Pacquiao, endorses Duke Aiona in Hawaii Governors race.

Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao Endorses Duke Aiona for Governor

News Release from Aiona Campaign October 16, 2014

With over 2,000 views before its official release today, Manny Pacquiao’s video endorsement of James R. “Duke” Aiona for governor is already a hit. Seen on screen is the international sport star-statesman, who says: “Hello, everyone! I am Manny Pacquiao; please vote for Duke Aiona for Governor. He will fight for you!”

Veteran statesman and Philippines Congressman Lito Alienza made the official announcement this afternoon at Aiona headquarters: “Mabuhay! Manny and I have talked about his support for Duke and I asked him to give his full support in this endorsement, and joyfully Manny did!”

Congressman Alienza helped to sponsor-mentor the young, yet-unknown “Pac-Man” who would later rise up to become “The Nation’s Fist,” the first and only 8-division world champion, and now the 14th highest paid athlete according to Forbes.

Duke Aiona accepted the official endorsement, saying, “I’m grateful to accept this endorsement from a world-class fighter who is also a community servant and leader. The thread that Manny, Congressman Alienza and myself share is our love for our family, for faith, and for the people that we serve in our communities.”

Via video, Manny Pacquiao states, “I’ve know what it means to be an underdog. That’s why I support Duke Aiona, he will fight for better life for the people of Hawai‘i.” Aiona adds, “These are not times for the faint-hearted to be the Governor. We need someone who has experience, ready to step up on Day One and become the leader we all need. …I humbly ask for your vote come November 4th.”
