The Marine Engineers Beneficial Association and the Master Mates and Pilots are two US Merchant Marine Officers Unions, with offices in downtown Honolulu, and Union Hall’s across the U.S.
Together we are hosting the first Hawaiian Inter-Island Ferry Conference to be held Monday October 6th 2014 at the Pier 19 Ferry Facility in Honolulu Harbor. The event will take place from 5pm to 9pm.
We believe that it is only a matter of time before another inter-island ferry comes back to Hawaiian waters and we would like to encourage the process by holding this conference.
The conference is both pro and con ferry, we want to hear all sides of the debate and why.
We are expecting all the Governor and Lt. Governor candidates speaking at the conference including people familiar with past attempts at the ferry and people who have an idea what a future ferry system may look like.
