Throwback Thursday: Ige Once Even Tried To Tax Everyone's Soda
Senator Ige Continues To Duck Record Of Supporting Tax Hikes During Debates
News Release from Hawaii Republican Party
HONOLULU (September 25, 2014) - In today's Throwback Thursday, we will highlight an episode from Senator Ige's long record of supporting tax hikes as Chairman of Ways and Means alongside Governor Abercrombie's administration. The Abercrombie-Ige policy agenda of the past four years raised taxes over $833 million on Hawaii families and small businesses, and somehow Senator Ige wanted to raise taxes even further.
"It seems as if there was nothing Senator Ige wouldn't consider taxing, even though the cost of living has been skyrocketing for middle-class families in Hawaii under the Abercrombie-Ige policy agenda. Now ranked as the worst state to make a living, it is clear Hawaii cannot afford Senator Ige's tax-and-spend proposals for another four years." --Ted Kwong, Hawaii Republican Party Communications Advisor
