Hawaii Army and Air National Guardsmen partnered with civil authorities and went through neighborhoods hit by the hurricane to assess damage, and distribute news. Many residents in the Hilo area remain without power and cut off from services following Hurricane Iselle.
Hawaii Air National Guard's 204th Airlift Squadron delivers a C-17 full of ice that will goto relief efforts on Hawaii Island. Areas of Hawaii island are still without power in the Puna district after hurricane Iselle hit early friday morning. Residents in the area are in great need of ice and power. A Hawaii Air National Guard crew from the 204th Air Lift squadron delivered 55,000 pounds of Ice and 35,000 pounds of generators and other equipment in the early evening hours of August 12th.
