SHOPO Endorses Janet Grace for State House
News Release from Grace for Waikiki
In another indication of growing support for her campaign for State Representative, Janet Grace has won the endorsement of the State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers (SHOPO).
Grace is the Republican candidate for the Waikiki-Ala Moana seat currently held by Democrat Tom Brower, who gained international notoriety last year for using a sledgehammer to smash shopping carts used by the homeless.
"I'm especially honored to receive this endorsement," said Grace, "because of the unique law enforcement challenges that Waikiki faces in keeping our streets, parks, and neighborhoods safe and clean. The street people who commit illegal acts and prey on our visitors and residents are separate from the homeless children, families, and elderly who need supportive services. I look forward to working with the members of SHOPO to develop strategies to restore a sense of security and serenity to our community."
