Djou Seeks Seat in Majority for Hawaii
By Rep Charles Djou @ 6:01 PM :: 5688 Views :: Politicians, Republican Party

Message to Supporters from Djou Campaign

Aloha,    July 9, 2014

Last night Charles had the opportunity to chat with Keahi Tucker on Hawaii News Now about the importance of our congressional election.

Since the last election, Hawaii has lost over 90 years of seniority and now has the junior-most congressional delegation in the U.S.  For a small state like Hawaii, every little bit of seniority is critical to protecting our interests.  With the House remaining in GOP control and the Senate looking increasingly likely to flip in control to the Republicans, it is critical for Hawaii to have at least one person in its four-member Congressional delegation able to advocate for Hawaii's interests to the Republican majority.  Since Charles previously served in Congress, he will enter as a sophomore member with some seniority.  If Hawaii elects another freshman in the minority, our state will be even more isolated than ever.

Our campaign is the only one running to give Hawaii a voice in the majority caucus.  We are also the only campaign that if elected will enter with some level of seniority.  It is more important than ever for our campaign to win this election for Hawaii.

You can watch the entire interview on Hawaii News Now here.

Tomorrow is also an important deadline.  It is the last day to register to vote for the Primary Election.  Please take the time to make sure that not only you, but your family, friends and neighbors are registered to vote.  You can get a voter registration form here, or by visiting our website www.djou.com and scroll down to the voter registration link.

We have a historic opportunity this year to make a difference for our community by electing someone like Charles, who has the courage, commitment and character to serve our state and nation well.  Please encourage everyone you know to register and then vote in the Republican Primary on August 9th.
