HGEA’S 2014 PRIMARY ELECTION ENDORSEMENTS
News Release from HGEA June 20, 2014
The Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA) is pleased to announce its slate of endorsed candidates for the 2014 Primary Election.
“We believe that these candidates share our values and are very supportive to public employees and the many vital services they provide to our communities. These candidates are committed leaders who will help to move our state and counties forward,” said State Political Action Committee Chair Diane Nakashima.
“I also commend the efforts of our political action committees as they spent considerable time interviewing, reviewing backgrounds, and positions with the candidates, and through considerate deliberations, have come up with a slate of HGEA-endorsed candidates.”
The political action committees are composed of members from each HGEA bargaining unit statewide and the excluded/managerial unit and retirees unit.
(NOTE: An “open” endorsement means the union does not endorse a candidate. Members are encouraged to support and vote for any of the candidates in that race. “No action taken" means candidates did not contact HGEA for endorsement consideration in a timely manner or at all.)
